- Freehold is private property. If you have purchased real estate in freehold, you can freely dispose of it: sell, inherit, donate, rent and receive income. When buying real estate, a foreigner is issued a stamp certificate - chanot.
- Lesehold is a limited time ownership of real estate. Usually the contract is for 30 years with the possibility of two extensions up to 90 years. Despite the fact that it is a long-term lease, a freehold allows you to dispose of the property in the same way as a freehold: sell, inherit, gift, etc. At the conclusion of the transaction, a contract is issued, which is registered and certified by the Land Department.
